That’s the funny thing about time, it just keeps on slippin’, slippin’, slippin’ into the future.
No sooner do you accomplish one thing, then just like that, it’s time to focus on the next thing.
And the next.
And the next.
If you stop doing, you get rusty. If you stop creating, you get stagnant.
I just had my first-ever semi-solo (my friend and I) art show two weeks ago, and it was AWESOME!!! More people showed up than I’d expected, and I’m super thankful to each and every one of them! (Hugs to all!)
But here’s the tricky bit: If I want to actually make this art thing a THING —
I have to keep going.
I have to keep creating.
And I have to keep promoting.
If I don’t, I get rusty, and, you know, also stagnant.
Having one great show is great. But it does not a side hustle make.
So in that spirit, here’s The Next Thing:
I’m joining in the Mad Dog Holiday Sale, in Pawtucket, R.I., this weekend and next!
This time, it’s more than just me and my friend Amanda — there’s a whole studio of artists that’ll be showing with us! I’m really curious to see how this will go, because even though my last show was technically open to everyone, it was mostly people who know me that showed up.
In contrast, this will actually be The Public. I’m interested to see what kind of response my art will get. And there’s only one way to find out — starting Thursday night! Then the show itself will be Friday through Sunday, for two entire weekends!
Come check it out!
• Wine and cheese reception! Thursday (Nov. 29): 5 to 8:30 p.m.
• Fridays (Nov. 30 and Dec. 7): noon to 7:30 p.m.
• Saturdays and Sundays (Dec. 1 to Dec. 9): 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
(I’ll be there for Thursday, and from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2).
