They say “Hamilton” is an amazingly mind-blowing Broadway show.
Often enough, I disagree with “they.” But in this case — holy cow “they” are right. It’s absolutely freaking ridiculous, and the songs have been stuck in my head for a week. Like:
“There’s a million things I haven’t done – just you wait.”
– Alexander Hamilton
“Why do you write like you’re running out of time?”
– Ensemble
“How lucky we are to be alive right now!”
– Eliza Hamilton
“I am the one thing in life I can control.”
– Aaron Burr
It’s all so good – and so freaking true.
You ARE the one thing in life you can control, and if you’re like me, you have a million things you haven’t done yet. But you’re still alive, which means you still have the chance to DO them.

I’ve gotten a few things done, but so much still to go.
DONE: Write a weekly stepmomming column for the newspaper. I’ve now been doing that for 1 1/2 years – over 80 columns!
NOT DONE: Publish my first novel (and follow it up with two more). That…is presently on the back burner so I can focus on my art.
DONE: Have an art show.
NOT DONE: Have art as a steady source of income.
DONE: Set up online print-on-demand shops for mugs, purses, notebooks and more.
NOT DONE: Put together an Etsy shop of my original art pieces.
NOT DONE…
NOT DONE…
NOT DONE …
A million things I haven’t done. But just you wait. Just you wait.
