Painting in front of people: March 30

When your boss sends an email with the subject, “You do NOT have to say yes…” it sparks a little curiosity.

What exactly don’t I have to say yes to?

Painting while people watch, apparently.

Yep, a live painting, from start to finish, at the Bristol County Home & Garden Show in Fall River on March 30.

“I know you don’t love talking in front of people, but…would you consider it?” she asked.

The introvert in me said hell no — but my more rational side said, why the hell not? It would be something completely new. I’ve been trying a lot of new things lately. Why not one more thing?!

So that’s the plan. March 30, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., I’ll be painting and inking a 9×12 piece like this one below (but in full color)!

This newspaper layout described a dozen things to know about the Home & Garden Show, and I put myself at number 12. (I designed the page!)

And not just me — my friend and fellow artist Amanda Grafe will also be doing her own live painting alongside me. And Musical Nature will be providing ambient music soundscapes, which will be awesome to set the tone of the event.

I’ll have stickers to hand out to anyone that wants one, as well as coloring pages for any kiddos (or adults) that stop by!

From what I understand, our finished paintings will be raffled off at the end of the event (so I have to get it finished!).

I guess my art fits the “home and garden” theme because it qualifies as home decor, right? So our table will also have my usual art stuff for sale as well! (Plus some new things, like beverage tumblers, kitchen towels, and rock drawings!)

Saturday, March 30, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
