If you’re lucky, you have people in your life who push you.
Not, like, off a cliff (avoid those people) —
but who push you to be better than you were the day before.
My friend Amanda is one of those friends.
It’s her fault, for example, I had my first-ever art show last year (she twisted my arm to do a joint show with her).
And it’s her fault I illustrated a book.
Yep.

She’d written the plot, and asked me to draw the pictures.

[There, you self-respecting decent folk *coughBobbycough*, is this post more seasonally appropriate than my last one about Christmas?] 😉
It’s a cute story about a girl and a little ghoul who keeps following her around.
Now, the book, called “My Best Ghoulfriend,” is actually on Amazon (which is kind of crazy!) —

AND it’ll be for sale at the art show this Saturday (conveniently at a book store)!
➽ Oct. 26: An Unlikely Craft Fair
WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 26, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: An Unlikely Story bookstore, 111 South St., Plainville, Mass.
WHAT: My art will be among a variety of handmade gifts and goods from local artisans at THE cutest little bookstore north of Providence! (seriously this place is adorable — they even have a cafe! #happycoffeeaddict) (Fun fact: It was founded by the author of the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series, in his hometown.)
My dear Emely…….Congratulations!!…You are amazing!….I just love your cute illustrations!!……I wish you and Amanda much success in book sales….it’s a great beginning….will you follow up with a Christmas Elf ?… I imagine children’s books are probably an easier “sell” these days that adult books, since a lot of adults read EBooks….
Wishing you much luck……Grandma Theresa
