“Where do you picture yourself in ten years?”
Lately I’ve been ALL ABOUT motivational podcasts and online classes and Facebook groups, and they all ask the same thing: What’s your “why”? What motivates you? What’s your ultimate goal for your life?
And sure, I want to “do more with my art” (whatever that means) and “publish my book.”
But what’s my “why,” my reason?
Every day, I tell myself a lie.
“This’ll only take a minute.”
Every day, I underestimate how much time I’ll end up spending on “This.”
When middle-school-aged me used to fly somewhere, I’d look down at the new city as we were landing, and wonder what life was like for the people there. The people who lived, EVERY DAY, in the places that we were so excited to visit for a little while – did they realize how cool their home was?
